David Beckham made an appearance at Milan Fashion Week on Sept. 18 in support of Boss, the luxury brand with whom he signed a multi-year collaboration deal earlier this year.
The jacket included a notch collar, which is defined by a triangular cutout on either side. His slim-fitting dress pants featured a crisp crease down the front, contributing to the immaculate aesthetic of the outfit.
Fittingly, the retired soccer star looked dapper in a sharp suit, which the company is known for crafting. In a deep navy hut, the suit featured a single-breasted jacket with two buttons, one of which Beckham had fastened to bring together the formal look.
Beckham decided to forgo the classic button-down-and-tie combo in favor of a snug turtleneck in a slightly darker hue of blue than the suit. This piece toned down the formality of the ensemble while indicating that Beckham’s wardrobe is well-equipped for fall.
Beckham completed the look with leather dress shoes in a woodsy shade of dark brown. The shoes featured closed lacing, in which the quarter is underneath the shoe’s vamp. The laces made a subtle statement on the upper with a few rows of horizontal lines visible; the shoes also featured an almond toe and a short block heel.
Making a statement with a refined silhouette and glossy shine, Oxfords like these are a touchstone piece in the world of menswear. Beckham sat front row alongside CEO of Hugo Boss Daniel Grieder and Vogue’s Global Editorial Director Anna Wintour during the show.
Beckham can be counted on to deliver a polished look when it comes time to dress up. For example, the superstar athlete wore a different navy suit with black leather Oxfords last year while attending an Inter Miami game, a soccer club he partially owns. He is also known for having starred in many Adidas campaigns over the years.
