David Boreanaz might be deep into playing the character of Jason Hayes in SEAL Team, but the actor never forgets where he came from. That’s why Boreanaz had a very clear answer to the possibility of a Bones revival. But is there a possibility that Bones might come back?

Will There Be a Bones Revival?
David Boreanaz is in for a revival. “It was lightning in a bottle,” Boreanaz told TV Insider of the show, where he played FBI agent Seeley Booth. In the long-running procedural, Booth partners up with Emily Deschanel’s Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan, a scientist who isn’t very good at understanding people and the two develop a very close partnership that, throughout the show, blossoms into romance.
Boreanaz also praised Deschanel and the bond they developed on set. “I hold that so near and dear, and it would be great to relive that again.”
“It is the work ethic that we had putting into these characters and what we put out was entertainment for them, and I just can’t tell you how much love and admiration we get from fans for these two characters. And to see them come back would be great,” Boreanaz said, while also noting that a reboot would also be “easy” because “it’s so fun.”

Last year, the show’s creator Hart Hanson also spoke about the possibility, telling Variety: “We are in contact with each other. Everybody on ‘Bones’ is in contact with each other. At separate times, it’s like, ‘What are you doing? What’s the availability?’”
Hanson admitted the realities of TV rights made it complicated, but added “We do keep talking. And every once in a while, we are all nostalgic enough to think, ‘Maybe we should do it again.”
There was, of course, an important caveat for Hanson. “Of course, it all depends on David and Emily. Without both of them, no.”
Bones ran for 12 seasons and over 240 episodes and starred Boreanaz and Deschanel, alongside Tamara Taylor, John Francis Daley, TJ Thyne, and Michaela Conlin.
Before his over a decade on Bones, Boreanaz starred as vampire Angel on both Buffy the Vampire Slayer alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Angel, another show with a dedicated cult following that fans wouldn’t mind seeing return. So basically, wherever Boreanaz goes, he makes an impression.
SEAL Team is available to stream on Paramount Plus.
