Hayley Erbert (2015 – Present)
Hough met his wife Hayley Erbert in 2014 when he and his sister Julianne Hough hired Erbert to go on tour with them. Erbert then joined Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars as a troupe member, and she and Hough started dating in 2015. The two quarantined together during the pandemic, an experience that according to Hough, brought them even closer.
“We came together, we got closer,” he said on The Ellen Degeneres Show in September 2020. “We grew as a couple tremendously. We even started a YouTube channel together, cooking.”
In June 2022, the couple officially announced their engagement and tied the knot in August 2023. Just a few months later, the pair went through a very scary moment together, as Erbert underwent emergency brain surgery. She has since recovered and returned to dancing.
Nikki Reed (2014)
Hough dated actress Nikki Reed for a few months in 2014. The actress, better known for her role as Rosalie Hale in the Twilight saga, met Hough at an event in Los Angeles and the two hit it off right away. But alas, the relationship was not meant to be and the two soon parted ways. Reed is now married to The Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder.

Nina Dobrev (2013)
Before Reed, Hough also briefly dated actress Nina Dobrev, after the two were introduced by Derek’s sister Julianne. Dobrev, who is better known for appearing on Degrassi: The Next Generation and The Vampire Diaries, is currently not married but she has been dating professional snowboarder, skateboarder, and Olympic gold medalist Shaun White since 2020.
Lauren Conrad (2011)
Hough reportedly also dated television personality Lauren Conrad, who is better known for the reality television series The Hills, for two months in 2011. The two met at an event in Los Angeles and had a very casual and short-lived romance. Conrad is now married to musician William Tell.

Cheryl Cole (2010)
Hough’s relationship with Cheryl Cole lasted a bit more than a lot of his other relationships before he met his wife. The two met while working on Cole’s music video for “Parachute,” and reportedly dated for about a year. Hough and Elizabeth started dating after being partnered on Dancing With the Stars Season 6. The pair dated for about a year, before announcing their breakup on Twitter in 2009. Elizabeth is best known for her role in American Pie. She is also a professional poker player.
India de Beaufort (2000-2008)
Hough and actress India de Beaufort dated for eight years before the two of them really gained much notoriety in show business. The two met while working on a theatre production. India de Beaufort is a British actress and singer-songwriter, better known for her roles in One Tree Hill, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, and Night Court. She’s married to actor Todd Grinnell.
