Meghan Markle has been under a lot of criticism since marrying Prince Harry. She has been put down by the British media a lot during her time in the Royal Family. Did she know what she was getting herself into when marrying Prince Harry? Did she realize she was also marrying into the Royal Family?
According to Princess Diana's butler, Paul Burrel, "Nobody can understand that world. It’s a very strange world. That is a very strange family to marry into."

Burrel also said, "Harry is sixth in line to throne, he’s not going to make huge difference to monarchy. There isn’t a great deal of space for Harry and Meghan so they’re really looking forward to the future.”
This comment was made to Piers Morgan, the host of Good Morning Britain just days after Queen Elizabeth II made the official announcement about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry leaving their Royal Duties behind and leaving the Royal Family. They are stepping back from Senior Royals and spending half of their time in Canada.
Queen Elizabeth II said, "Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved members of my family"
She continued, "I recognize the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life. I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family."
She also said, "It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life."
When Morgan asked Burrell if the Royal Couple didn't want the boring things that came with being a member of the Royal Family, Burrell quickly came to the defense of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry when he said, "It’s very difficult for the outside world to understand what it’s like to live in a palace. She had no idea what she was getting herself into, nobody can."
Morgan said, "Oh come off it, she’s a 35-year-old divorcee she knew what she was getting into."
Burrell explained that the same thing happened to Princess Diana when she married Prince Charles. He then talked about a note he found recently that Princess Diana had written to him before she died that he offered to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to take with them to Canada.
He said, "I saw recently a letter which she wrote to me. She wrote to me about her future and she said, ‘I would look up and live and laugh and love,’ and I think they're poignant words to send to Harry and Meghan.”
