It's a Dog's Life on Hallmark Mystery's Newest Film, 'Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery'
Man's best friend takes center stage in Hallmark Mystery's latest original movie, Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery. After seeing success from shows like Lassie and Hudson & Rex Hallmark Media knows audiences love a canine co-star!
Hallmark Channel has featured animals in many of their movies, including Christmas with Tucker, The Nine Lives of Christmas, Winter Love Story and more recently Guiding Emily and My Christmas Guide. They'll be adding to that list with Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery. Here's what we know so far about the new movie.
What is Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery about?
If you need a crime detection dog, you call the best trainer in the business and that would be Jazz Ramsey (Rachel Skarsten). And if you’re Jazz, you not only train great dogs, but also mentor the next generation of curious minds – the forensics club at the Astor Academy for Girls. While running a demonstration with one of her crime sensing dog trainees, Jazz uncovers a murder victim on the deserted third floor of the school. Jazz’s demonstration soon becomes a crime scene swarming with cops. Detective Nick Kolesov (Corey Sevier), head of the major crimes' unit, a dedicated investigator, as well as Jazz’s ex-boyfriend, is assigned to investigate. Being an alumnus from the school, Nick brings Jazz into the case to utilize her expertise and her dogs to help gather evidence. Suspects begin to pile up while they investigate the death of the victim, an unpopular and overly strict teacher. But who would want this teacher dead? Jazz, with the help of Nick and her canine partner, Zeus, will stop at nothing to find the truth.
Meet the cast of Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery
Rachel Skarsten (Jazz)
Rachel Skarsten is probably best known for her role as Queen Elizabeth I in The CW series, Reign. She has guest starred on such shows as Wynonna Earp, Imposters, and Little Men which also starred Corey Sevier. For Hallmark, Skarsten has starred in several films including The Royal Nanny opposite her Reign co-star Dan Jeannotte, Timeless Love, and Christmas Island.

Corey Sevier (Nick)
Corey Sevier has been acting professionally since he was seven when he landed the role of Timmy in the ‘90s version of the prolific series, Lassie. He has had recurring roles in Cedar Cove and Mistresses. He has also starred in several films including Northern Lights of Christmas, Road Trip Romance, and The Dog Lover's Guide to Dating.
