Dove Awards nominees: Reigning artist of the year Brandon Lake leads list

The Gospel Music Association's Dove Award nominees were announced Wednesday and Christian music's Brandon Lake leads the pack with 16 nominations including Artist of the Year, which he won in 2023.

The "Gratitude" singer is also nominated for being a writer on four songs nominated for Song of the Year, two songs in the Worship Recorded Song of the Year category (one as a feature) and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year, among others.

Jeff Pardo received 11 nominations with Chris Brown, Chandler Moore and Jonathan Smith each receiving 10. CeCe Winans and Naomi Raine lead the female nominees with five nominations each.

Joining Lake as nominees for Artist of the Year are Anne Wilson, CeCe Winans, for King & Country and Lauren Daigle.

The host of the 55th annual awards show will be Tauren Wells.

“I love this moment each year when we get to announce our nominees,” GMA President Jackie Patillo said in a release. “The Dove Awards are about spreading the message in our music with the world and honoring the work of the amazing artists, songwriters, producers, and film & TV creators in our great community. I’m thrilled for this year’s nominees and can’t wait to celebrate in October.”

The Dove Awards will be held Oct. 1, 2024 at Allen Arena in Nashville, TN, and will air on TBN and TBN+ Friday, and simulcast on SiriusXM The Message on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. CT. A re-broadcast will air on TBN and TBN+ Friday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. CT. A limited number of Music City Fan Experience tickets are still available HERE.
