Duo Cast In CW Drama Pilot ‘Messengers’
Skins‘ alum Sofia Black-D’Elia and Joel Courtney (Super 8) have joined CW drama pilot The Messengers from feature producer Basil Iwanyk (the Clash Of The Titans franchise) and CBS TV Studios. The Messengers starts with a mysterious object crashing down to Earth. A group of seemingly unconnected strangers die from the energy pulse, but then awaken to learn that they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending apocalypse. Black-D’Elia, repped by ICM Partners and Brookside Artist Management, will play Erin, who despite the stresses in her life, is eager to make a new life for herself and her young daughter far away from her hot-headed ex-husband. Courtney, repped by CAA and Principato Young Entertainment, will play Peter, a loner who was raised in a group home and is bullied constantly. Black-D’Elia stars in the upcoming feature Welcome To Yesterday and HBO pilot Criminal Justice. Courtney next will be seen in feature Sins Of Our Youth.
