Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson roasts his own movie during WWE return
The wrestler-turned-action-hero took down Jinder Mahal and "Baywatch" at the same time.
Nobody was safe when Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson made his WWE return on New Year's Day — including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
On Monday's Raw Day 1, the wrestler-turned-movie-star stepped back into the ring to trash-talk Jinder Mahal… and one of his own films.
Johnson's return had him as boisterous as ever, busting out catchphrases and the bravado that made him one of the most loved faces of his wrestling prime. He also showed off his self-deprecating charm by incorporating a movie misstep into his burns. "Nobody likes you, and you're not funny," he quipped to Mahal. "As a matter of fact, if you were one of the Rock's movies, you would probably be Baywatch."
Bahal countered by saying he'd never seen Baywatch, but Johnson was ready to keep taking potshots at his flop. "Well, nobody else did either," he said of the movie, in which he starred alongside Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
The Rock almost broke character during his tirade, starting to laugh before pulling back into another jab at Baywatch. The film, which did not find much love from critics or audiences, made just $58.1 million at the North American box office.
Johnson has seemingly had a good sense of humor about Baywatch since it hit theaters. He was given an award from the mean-spirited Razzies, which he accepted with lots of laughs on social media. "Let me go ahead and take this L right on the chin for Baywatch," he wrote in a caption.

Johnson's appearance on WWE seemed to tease that this wasn't a one-off drop-in. He ended his appearance by throwing out that he wants a shot at Roman Reigns, which could mean more of the Rock in the ring in the near future.
