‘DWTS’ Recap: Vanilla Ice, Marcia Brady, and Olympic Gold

Dancing With the Stars premiered on Monday, and America got to meet the stars hoping to foxtrot their way to the hallowed Mirror Ball. Rob Van Winkle, better known as Vanilla Ice, showed that he still had some moves as he danced to his hit “Ice Ice Baby.”

Another blast from the past was Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia in the Brady Bunch. After her number, she was reunited with her TV mom Florence Henderson.

With so many looks back, the show looked to the future as it cast its first “little person.” Terra Jolé, star of Little Women: LA, hoped to be judged by her dancing without mention of her stature. She delighted the audience and the judges with her routine.

The most promising contestant was Laurie Hernandez, member of the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team. He athletic abilities shined bright as she danced to hopefully add a Mirror Ball to her Olympic medals.
