Ed Sheeran Finally Talks About Being Cut With a Sword by Princess Beatrice

What do Ed Sheeran, James Blunt, Princess Beatrice, and a ceremonial sword have to do with one another? Well, if you don’t remember, during a party last year, Princess Beatrice was asked to “fake-knight” James Blunt. She agreed to do so, but during the process she accidentally sliced open Ed Sheeran’s face.

Sheeran just talked about the incident for the first time with Absolute Radio, saying, “I got hit in the face, and I was like, all right, OK, and then started carrying on, and then I looked down at my shirt and it was just completely covered in blood. And everyone was kind of gaping open-mouthed at me. What, have I got a nosebleed or something? What’s happened?”

Sheeran didn’t ever name Princess Beatrice, but he did end up going to the hospital for stitches. As for the scar, he doesn’t seem to mind, joking: What kid doesn’t want a “scar like Blofeld?” That, of course, is the iconic James Bond villain. The resemblance is bit of a stretch.
