Eddie Redmayne Flew to Brazil for the Olympics With His 8-Week-Old Baby

Academy Award-winning actor Eddie Redmayne stopped by Ellen on Wednesday where he shared a story about something every parent dreads: flying with a baby. Redmayne explained he’d been invited by Omega watches to be an ambassador for the company at the Rio Olympics this past summer. Though his baby, Iris, was only 8 weeks old, Redmayne and his wife, Hannah, packed up and the three of them were off to Brazil.

But this wasn’t your run of the mill flight to Brazil. According to Redmayne, quite a few British Olympians were also on the flight. Not surprisingly, this gave Redmayne a bit of anxiety. “There was this fear that, what if she cries lots and then they don’t sleep, and then they blame all of their lack of success on Iris?”

But all that worry was much ado about nothing. Redmayne said that after a brief crying interlude, baby Iris was calm and quiet the entire flight.
