Eddie Redmayne Responds to Rumors That He Once Dated Taylor Swift

On Wednesday’s Watch What Happens Live, guest Eddie Redmayne was asked by a caller from New York City about the rumors that he once briefly dated Taylor Swift.

Back in early 2012, Swift was in New York to audition for Les Misérables, and according to a source at Us Weekly at the time, Taylor “developed feelings for him fast.” But, at least according to Redmayne, that was not the case.

“I never went out on a date with Taylor Swift,” Redmayne said. “Although I met Taylor Swift. She auditioned for Les Misérables, and she was amazing in the audition.”

So while they officially never dated, the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star and married father of one looks back on his time with her quite fondly. Because, well, she’s a hugely talented pop star.

“We got to sing together, which was a big moment for me,” Redmayne admitted. “And she was extraordinary.”
