Ego Nwodim already has some ideas for the big-name stars she'd like to see step up to the plate and host Saturday Night Live as the show prepares to kick off its milestone 50th season.

At the top of her list, the 36-year-old actress — who joined the long-running NBC sketch series in 2018 — nominates her Mr. Throwback costar Stephen "Steph" Curry.

"I want Steph Curry to host SNL. Put me down officially. That's my vote," she tells PEOPLE exclusively. "That's my vote, my 2024. I'm voting for Steph Curry to host SNL."

"I would love that, and he would be so good," she adds.

Although she can't say much about what fans can expect from the upcoming season, Nwodim says plans of what's to come have been in the works for a while.

"When we're on summer hiatus, specifically the cast, when I tell you we're on real summer hiatus, I'm like, I have no idea what's happening over there. Literally. And that's all of us," she explains. "We don't know. We find out anything and everything, who's hired, who's coming back essentially the same time the public does."

"So, we have no idea. But, I know that the producers are working hard and have been since last year, honestly, literally last calendar year on the 50th and plans for the 50th anniversary," she continues. "So it's going to be like the wedding of your dreams. It's like your dad's 50th birthday party or something."

"I think it's going to be really special. I do note that, and what I can say is they're going out of their way and being really meticulous and thoughtful about who they have show up. And so I know they're very excited," she adds.

In the meantime, fans can catch Nwodim and Curry co-starring on Mr. Throwback, which sees the 36-year-old Golden State Warriors player playing a fictionalized version of himself as he reconciles with Danny (Adam Pally), his basketball teammate from his middle school days who now works as a memorabilia salesman.

Nwodim has high praise for Curry, whom she deemed "phenomenal" in his comedic efforts on the Peacock mockumentary series.

"He came to set and he was incredible. He was prepared and off-book," she recalls. "He came off-book and I was like, 'Oh damn, Steph.' He's training for the Olympics and is off-book," she says. "And I'm like, 'S---, I'm not off book. I got to step it up.' Steph made me want to step my game up."

Also calling Curry a "class act," the Good Burger 2 actress added: "It was incredible to see him. And so I do think fans ... they shouldn't be [surprised] because he's great at everything, but I do think they'll be surprised at how fun and funny and good at acting he is."

Those who tune in will also get to see Nwodim and Curry show off their comedic chops alongside Pally, a frequent comedic actor who has appeared on sitcoms like Happy Endings and The Mindy Project. In fact, Nwodim says the Knuckles actor — who "was having the time of his life, as he rightfully should" — told her he was "going to get [her] to break" character mid-scene.

"I do think I broke. Or, as soon as we called cut, I broke. But there was a lot of that happening. As soon as the director would call cut, we would all erupt in laughter if we hadn't already started while cameras were rolling," she shares. "There was so much play behind the scenes and so much laughter in between takes. It was such a joyous experience. Such good vibes, such good energy throughout the entire shoot."
