Ella Purnell Is an All-New Killer Tired of Being Overlooked in ‘Sweetpea’ Trailer

Ella Purnell has turned to violent methods to make sure she’s not being overlooked anymore in the new Sky and Starz show Sweetpea.

The six-episode British revenge thriller follows Rhiannon Lewis (Purnell), a quiet wallflower that everyone overlooks, who develops a vengeful taste for murder. “At its core, the series is about a woman finally finding her voice, told through a uniquely dark and comedic lens,” per the logline.

“Sometimes I make a list of people who make me feel invisible,” Purnell says in the footage. “Sometimes I make a list of people I’d love to kill,” including “Donna in the mini market who is never happy to help, Norman from work for failing to acknowledge my potential” and “Julia Blenkinsopp, the bully who ruined my life.”

She adds, “I’m not a victim. Not anymore.”

The cast of Sweetpea, adapted from C.J. Skuse’s novel of the same name, also includes Nic?le Lecky as Julia, Jon Pointing as Craig, Calam Lynch as AJ, Leah Harvey as Marina, Jeremy Swift as Norman and Dustin Demri-Burns as Jeff.

Kirstie Swain is executive producing the series as well as writing the script, alongside Krissie Ducker, Laura Jayne Tunbridge and Selina Lim. Ella Jones is directing and executive producing, as well as Manpreet Dosanjh for Sky Studios, Patrick Walters for fanboy and Helen Gregory, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman for See- Saw Films. Purnell also serves as executive producer, with Zorana Piggott as the series producer.

Sweetpea premieres on Starz on Thursday, Oct. 10. The following week, the show moves to Fridays for the remainder of the season.
