Elton John Says He’s Partially Blind After “Severe Eye Infection”: “I Am Healing, But It’s An Extremely Slow Process”

Elton John is on the mend following a “severe eye infection” that the singer says has left him partially blind.

The singer shared an update on social media, in which he opened up about his health, revealing that he got an eye infection earlier this year.

“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,” read a statement from John on Instagram. “I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”

He continued, “I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.”

John noted that he has “been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home” and “feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.”

Following his statement, John received an outpour of love from celebrities who left a message in the post.
