Emily Mortimer & Alessandro Nivola’s King Bee Strikes Deal With Sony
Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola’s King Bee Productions has struck a multi-year first look deal with Sony.
The husband-and-wife duo’s production outfit will develop and produce scripted TV shows in various formats globally for Sony’s International Production group and U.S. studio. King Bee previously had a similar deal with eOne, which has now run down.

King Bee produced two seasons of HBO-Sky series Doll & Em and the Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award Winner and Film Independent Spirit Award nominated feature To Dust starring Matthew Broderick and Geza Rohrig. Its team includes Lizzie Nastro, former head of acquisitions for IFC and producer of Crystal Moselle’s Skate Kitchen, serving as Head of Film and Television, while Sam Schlaifler is VP of Development.
Mortimer recently co-wrote the upcoming untitled Noah Baumbach feature for Netflix, while Nivola will next star opposite Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the Sony/Marvel feature Kraven the Hunter. Nivola has a long-standing relationship with Sony and has appeared in a number of its movies.
