Eminem To Open 2024 MTV VMAs With Live Performance
Eminem and GloRilla have been announced as performers at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, adding to a star-studded list of musical talent set to take the stage at the annual award show.
The Detroit rapper will kick off the 2024 MTV VMAs with a live performance, marking his first time opening the show in over a decade.
The 2024 MTV VMAs will also include performances by LL Cool J, GloRilla, Anitta featuring Fat Joe, DJ Khaled, Lenny Kravitz, and Megan Thee Stallion, who will also host the awards for the first time.
In addition to being the opening act to perform at the 2024 MTV VMAs, Eminem is up for eight nominations, including “Video of the Year,” “Best Hip-Hop,” “Song of the Summer,” and “VMAs Most Iconic Performance.”
Currently tied with Peter Gabriel for most MTV VMA wins with 13, if Eminem wins in one of the eight categories he’s nominated for, he’ll break Gabriel’s record. This would make him the most decorated solo male artist in VMA history, with Madonna, Taylor Swift, and Beyoncé being the only artists with more VMAs hardware.
The MTV VMAs will air live on Wednesday (Sept. 11th) at 8 p.m. ET/PT from New York’s UBS Arena.
