This Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter is coming to the Mount Baker Theatre in Bellingham
Last month, the Mount Baker Theatre announced the Grammy-nominated band, The Decemberists, will be kicking off the fall season of performers, and now another famous musician has announced a concert at the historic venue.
Emmy-nominated singer-song writer Ben Folds will be stopping in Whatcom County on his national Paper Airplane Request Tour.
The musician is known for his songs “The Luckiest” and “Rockin the Suburbs,” but also for his musical work on movies such as “Over the Hedge,” “Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas” and “Godzilla.”
“For the past thirty years, Folds has toured as a pop artist while also performing with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras. He is a New York Times Best Selling author and podcast host, has composed for film, TV and theatre, and serves as the Artistic Advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.,” a news release from Mount Baker Theatre states. Folds also created a music education charitable initiative called “Keys For Kids,” that helps provide fund and keyboards to nonprofits that teach free or affordable music lessons to children.
The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept 28. Tickets are available online starting at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, and start at $45.75.
The Mount Baker Theatre is at 104 North Commercial St. in Bellingham.
