Emmy Rossum Through the Years, in Honor of Her 30th Birthday

Emmy Rossum is officially dirty 30.

The Shameless actress celebrated her milestone birthday Sept. 12, but she got the party started over the previous weekend. The brunette was feted by loved ones — including her fiancé, Sam Esmail, the creator of Mr. Robot, and her BFF, Dorie Golkin Smith — at a West Coast bash, where she rocked the heck out of a low-cut LBD in a room filled with festive balloons.

Rossum joked about this photo, which shows her pushing away Esmail, who is trying to give her a kiss as she prepares to blow out the candles on her cake. “When you’re trying to make a wish and he’s trying to give you a kiss,” she wrote.

Let’s hope they work that out by their wedding day.

While Emmy is just now joining the 30 club (along with fellow Summer of 1986 babies Lilo, the Olsen twins, and Shia LaBeouf), it feels like she’s been around forever — maybe because she was a child star or perhaps it’s because she plays mom to so many kids on Shameless (when her character isn’t in jail or shacking up with her latest boyfriend, that is).
