Enchanting, Texas Star and Former 1017 Rapper, Dead at 26
Enchanting, the Texas rapper who signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 label in 2020 before leaving last year, has died at the age of 26.
“So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant,” Gucci wrote in a social media post on Tuesday. The cause of death was not immediately reported.

Enchanting, whose real name is Channing Nicole Larry, signed to 1017 Records in 2020, and left after releasing 2022’s No Luv and its deluxe version, Luv Scarred/No Luv, the following year.
Coi Leray, who collaborated with the rapper on her “Freaky Deaky” track, also shared a tribute to Enchanting, writing on Instagram stories, “My heart broken praying for Enchanting friends and family. R.I.P.” In a second post, Leray added: “Check on your strong friends. You just never know what someone is going through. Shit deep under the surface.”
In 2023, Enchanting appeared on the soundtrack for RAP SH!T, Issa Rae’s television series on Max, alongside a lineup of established rap stars such as Kaliii and Sexyy Red, and underground, up-and-coming acts like Cleotrapa and NCognita. Enchanting featured with Maiya the Don on “He Can’t Reach, collaborated with Omeretta the Great on the commanding track “Want No Beef,” and “Run It Up,” with Atlanta rapper Kaliii.
“Staying in the studio and constantly recording, it helps me find the style I can be good at,” Enchanting previously said in a statement posted to her 1017 Records profile. “It’s like Trap-n-Blues,” she wrote when describing her style of music. “Other people can relate to the things I say. I might help somebody through any situation, they can listen to me and find peace.”
