New England Patriots' Julian Edelman Wins the MVP Award at the 2019 Super Bowl
Wide reciever Julian Edelman has been named Super Bowl LIII MVP after helping the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in Atlanta, Georgia.
The nine-year-veteran became the second-leading receiver in NFL playoffs history in Sunday’s game, and helped the Pats trounce the Rams with a score of 13-3. He is now the seventh receiver to win the MVP in history.
According to Sports Illustrated, Tom Brady and Edelman have connected for 30 touchdowns during their nine seasons together.
The MVP honor and the Super Bowl win cap off a season that was full of questions for the Patriots. The season saw the team suffer back-to-back double-digit losses for the first time since 2002, coming in Week 2 and 3, which lead some analysts to question whether the dynasty was coming to an end. But the Pats rebounded to finish off the year 11-5 and saw Brady set a record for most career passing touchdowns in the process.
