Aunt Stella and Tracy have stuck up an unlikely friendship on General Hospital, and fans just can’t get enough. You want to see more of this odd couple, which may happen. But, for now, you’ll have to make do with all these other places where you can watch actress Vernee Watson (who we interviewed here) during her storied and multi-decade career:

That Girl

When fans think back on the classic sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter, they mostly remember the boys: Arnold Horshack, Juan Epstein, Freddie Washington, and, of course, Vinnie Barborino. But, if asked to recall any female characters, the first one that comes to mind is Freddie’s girlfriend, Vernajean. Watson-Johnson appeared in thirteen episodes during the first season, and you can watch her, here, for free!

That’s My Mama

Yes, Watson-Johnson guest-starred in the sitcom That’s My Mama, but her most famous TV mom was probably on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where she played Viola “Vy” Smith, mom to Will, himself. You see, the way Will told it, “When a couple of guys who were up to no good/ Started making trouble in my neighborhood/ I got in one little fight, and my mom got scared/ And said, “You’re movin’ with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.” Watson-Johnson appeared in 15 episodes between 1990 and 1995 to confirm that she’d made the right call. During the show’s run, Vy married Fred, father of Will’s girlfriend, Lisa. How much more soapy can you get! Stream the show on any of these services.

Nursing School

Need medical care while visiting TV Land? Odds are, you’ll get Watson-Johnson (and not just on GH). To date, she’s played a nurse on: Angie, Young Sheldon, Two and a Half Men, House, The Ant Bully, The West Wing, The X-Files, and more. She was also a doctor on Days of our Lives. So the answer to the question of “Where can I see more Vernee Watson” is…everywhere!
