Everything You Want to Know About Team USA's 2024 Olympic Uniforms—Including Closing Ceremony Looks

The 2024 Paris Olympics are almost here—and so are the first looks at the brand-new uniforms for Team USA.

On Tuesday, June 18, Ralph Lauren unveiled Team USA's Opening and Closing Ceremony Parade uniforms for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris next month, and by the looks of the new 'fits, Team USA could earn a gold medal for being the best dressed.

Ralph Lauren returns as the official outfitter of Team USA again this year, marking its ninth consecutive time since the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This year, the designer has achieved the perfect fusion of "bringing the heritage of sporting elegance into the modern era" by highlighting classic and iconic American styles.

As announced by the designer on Tuesday, the Team USA 2024 collection also draws inspiration from this year's host city—and will of course, include no shortage of red, white and blue.

“Ralph Lauren is profoundly honored to define the look of the American delegation as they represent our country in one of the world’s most celebrated and storied events. For nearly 60 years, Ralph Lauren has been a pioneer at the intersection of style and sport—the vibrancy, passion and self-expression in sport has been a central touchpoint of inspiration for our brand since the very beginning of the iconic Polo brand in 1967. This summer, Paris is the backdrop where fashion and sport will collide on the world’s stage with a global audience and that is an incredibly exciting proposition,” said David Lauren, Chief Branding and Innovation Officer, Ralph Lauren Corporation.

Opening Ceremony

For the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony on July 26, Team USA will be dressed in a single-breasted navy wool blazer with red and white tipping and a striped oxford shirt, which is "unexpectedly paired" with a tapered jean and a classic suede buck shoe, according to the statement from Ralph Lauren.

The blazer features an official logo patch of the U.S. Olympic Team and Ralph Lauren's signature embroidered Bigst Pony at the che.

Closing Ceremony

After the games wrap up on August 11, Team USA will be wearing sporty moto-style jackets paired with white denim and a Polo shirt from the brand's custom Create Your Own program and crafted with innovated flat-knit technology that aims to minimize waste from excess fabric.

Along with an official logo patch of the U.S. Olympic Team, it features an array of appliqués inspired by the 2024 Summer Olympics.

According to the designer, each item in the uniforms is proudly manufactured in the United States.

"Villagewear" Collection

The Paris 2024 collection also includes a commemorative "Villagewear" collection that athletes can wear outside of official ceremonies. This collection features iconic styles and silhouettes, including sporty varsity jackets, Polo shirts, vintage-style rugby shirts and the classic American flag sweater, and features energetic graphics and custom prints, bold color-blocking and classic stripes.

“Ralph Lauren has once again created designs that not only capture the essence of American style but also embody the spirit and pride of Team USA,” said Sarah Hirshland, U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee CEO. “As Team USA athletes prepare to represent the United States at the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, this iconic apparel serves as a symbol of unity and inspiration for both our team and the millions of fans who will be cheering them on.”

Manufacturing

According to Ralph Lauren, the 2024 collection was created with thoughtful consideration of material and manufacturing choices. Committed to investing in innovative ways to decrease the use of virgin materials, the villagewear collection features the brand’s first-ever 100% Recycled Cotton Polo Shirt, which utilizes NFW CLARUS? technology to create a timeless icon that can be worn year after year, generation to generation.

Styles throughout the collection, including Team USA’s Opening and Closing Ceremony Parade uniforms, are crafted with recycled polyester and USA-grown Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified wool, among other materials.
