The annual benefit is to be held at the Hangar Nicelli venue overlooking the city’s lagoon and comprises a black-tie gala dinner followed by a live auction of artworks and one-of-a-kind experiences to raise funds in support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education and advocacy.

The multiple Grammy Awards recipient and former Destiny’s Child singer follows in the footsteps of Rita Ora and Leona Lewis, who headlined last year’s gala, which raised $2 million for the cause. In 2022, Grammy Award-nominated singer Ellie Goulding performed at the event.

“We are thrilled and grateful to have the multitalented Kelly Rowland performing for us at amfAR Venezia,” said amfAR chief executive officer Kevin Robert Frost. “Her incredible voice will help make this a truly unforgettable evening.”

“Rowland has been a vocal advocate for HIV treatment and prevention. She has traveled multiple times to Africa to highlight the inequities in access to care that persist on the continent,” amfAR said in a statement. Rowland was bestowed with amfAR’s Award of Courage in 2022.
