Fans Express Concern As Pop Star Bares It All in Racy New Video: 'Anyone Else Uncomfortable?'

Tate McRae, a pro-dancer-turned-pop star who quickly rose to fame thanks to several TikTok-viral hits, has come under fire for her latest music video.

The 21-year-old left some fans feeling "uncomfortable" with the "It's ok I'm ok" music video released on Thursday, Sept. 12, featuring several racy outfits—or lack thereof—including one scene where a seemingly unclothed McRae was placed under arrest with a pair of pixelated censor blocks covering her.

Many fans agreed that between "THE SINGING. THE CHOREOGRAPHY. THE PRODUCTION," the newcomer "ATE IT UP OMG/z." But some begged her, "please don’t let fame ruin who you are, and take your innocence! We love you no matter what, but you don’t need to get naked for the world."

"I love tate alot but I'm not feeling the hypersexuality....." another agreed. "like she's great enough that I wish there could be less focus on her body and more on just her ability to sing and dance."

In a seemingly since-deleted comment seen by the Daily Mail, another viewer questioned, "Is anyone else uncomfortable with the amount of nakedness that people feel the need to showcase these days?" while another suggested that "videos like this...ruin the song..."

Others pointed out that she seemed to be "paying homage" through similar scenes to Britney Spears' "Outrageous" and "I Wanna Go," as well as The Pussycat Dolls' "When I Grow Up."

"So iconic," one called the comparisons, while another claimed, 'they’re always comparing her to Britney and 2000s music rn and she’s giving exactly what the people want."

Overall, most of her fans were overly supportive, with one exclaiming, "GIVE HER A GRAMMY! this girl has been working her a-- off for YEARS!! She deserves it!"

"They need to give this girl her 10s. She is the only pop girlie giving us choreography, vocals, the dramatics, she really is the whole package. The range she has is undeniable," another comment read.

"That choreography looks so difficult!" someone else observed. "She hits it like it’s easy."
