THE FIRST TRAILER for the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown trailer has finally dropped, and fans seem to be very pleased with their first glimpse of Timothée Chalamet’s portrayal of the beloved household name.

A Complete Unknown will tell the story of the young singer-songwriter's rise to fame, from a 19-year-old Minnesota folk singer to the famed musician many know today. The film will mainly focus on his early days in New York City, where he performed at iconic spots like Café Wha? and Hotel Chelsea.

The film is inspired by the 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric by Elijah Wood, and an important plot line will focus on his transition to the electric guitar during his groundbreaking rock 'n' roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965—a move which proved controversial among Dylan's admirers at the time.

Directed by James Mangold, A Complete Unknown features a star-studded cast: Elle Fanning, Edward Norton, Boyd Holbrook, and P.J. Byrne will all appear alongside Chalamet.

Anticipation for A Complete Unknown has been high since it was first announced, with curiosity high as to Chalamet's singing ability. The first teaser trailer for the project dropped this week, and many are already in awe of the star's performance. In the brief clip, the actor performs a rendition of the song "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall," whetting fans' appetites for what’s to come.

Although A Complete Unknown does not have a specific release date, fans can expect the film to premiere in theaters in December, according to a recent release.
