Fans Say ‘Today’s Upcoming Guest Host Is ‘The Only Replacement’ for Hoda Kotb
The Today show may look a little different this week–but longtime viewers seem to be okay with that, given the circumstances.
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the official Instagram account for Today with Hoda and Jenna revealed that one day later this week, there will be a very special guest host joining the program's fourth hour, and fans have already declared the A-lister the "only replacement" for Hoda Kotb, who only recently announced she would be departing from her regular spot at the NBC morning talk show.
Juxtaposed next to a photo of the broadcast's regular co-anchors–Kotb, 60, and Jenna Bush Hager, 42–was a portrait of one very familiar face: Snoop Dogg.
"Tune in this Thursday, 10/17! @snoopdogg will be hosting with #HodaandJenna ?," the accompanying caption read.
Fans immediately began singing the praises of the "Drop It Like It's Hot" rapper, and not only did they express sincere excitement at the thought of his upcoming appearance, but they made sure to emphasize their opinions on the 52-year-old artist being the only suitable replacement for Kotb when she does leave.
"Hoda & Snoop = ICONIC ??," one Instagram user declared, before a second dubbed them the "dream team ??."
"This is going to be so good!!" a different fan exclaimed.
"Well, now that Hoda is leaving the show, her only [replacement] can be Snoop ????," another suggested.
While no official replacement for the longtime NBC personality has been revealed just yet, the network still has time to make its decision as Kotb said she doesn't plan to leave until sometime in early 2025.
