Fantastic Four Filming Pushed to Q3 2024 as Pedro Pascal Exits Weapons
Filming on Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie has allegedly been pushed back from April of this year to Q3 2024, seemingly having a knock-on effect on the film’s potential Mr. Fantastic, Pedro Pascal.
Pedro’s No Longer a Weapon
As Hollywood studios juggle, push, and pull the movie and television schedules after last year’s strikes, projects are being shunted around to fit schedules for the likes of actors, directors, cinematographers, and more likely, for monetary concerns.
The Insneider reports that The Fantastic Four movie had initially been set to start shooting this April, which would seem to have given a window to Pedro Pascal to play Mr. Fantatsic as he is rumored to be doing and still fit filming Season 2 of The Last of Us and Barbarian director Zach Cregger’s Weapons around it.
Pascal has now, however, pulled out of Weapons due to scheduling conflicts, which coincide with the reported change in the shooting date for Fantastic Four.
Of course, nothing about the Fantastic Four film and its cast is officially confirmed as of yet, but this will only add fuel to the fire concerning Pascal’s involvement in the attempt to bring Marvel‘s supergroup into the MCU.
Deadline had previously reported that Pedro Pascal was in talks to play Reed Richards in the film, but nothing had been signed at that time. Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn were also reported to be in talks to play Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johhny Storm respectively.
Fantastic Four has a release date of May 2, 2025 pencilled in, but if a delay in shooting proves correct, then it seems unlikely that date will remain.
