Fashion Wins on the Emmys Red Carpet, From Ayo Edebiri to Anna Sawai
Jonathan Bailey: A+
If the silk shirt was white, it could be too close to “Saturday Night Fever.” Yet the champagne hue reads more old movie star to perfection. The whole look is super glamorous.

Jodie Foster: A-
Jodie Foster’s enduring style needs to be applauded. She favors minimalism and this navy tunic dress with a gold belt is another example.
Ayo Edebiri: A+
Ayo Edebiri always gets it right. We are in awe of her consistent style choices. This dress looks like a piece of art, with incredible detail and embroidery. The easy wave in her hair and glowing skin work perfectly with the whole look.
Naomi Watts: A-
This is a very stylized take on ‘80s prom — and we’re here for it. The jewel tone suits her, and the coral lip is super flattering. A bigger diamond necklace would’ve pushed us all the way.
Selena Gomez: A-
The embellished neckline and middle-parted hair are giving glam ’70s Cher — in an amazing way. We’d love to see her stay with this Hollywood star vibe more often.
Anna Sawai: A
A red gown on the red carpet is nothing we haven’t seen before, but this is a new concept. The exaggerated heart shape neckline and peplum drop waist are the perfect balance. It feels very classic but also new at the same time. She looks stunning.
Allison Janney: B+
This legendary actress can do no wrong, even while wearing this new take on a classic evening look. It’s a difficult look to love, but it’s oddly working for her.
Greta Lee: A
This is a difficult dress to pull off, and she does. The neck collar gives it a one-of-a-kind feel — it’s something we haven’t seen before, which we always love. The simple glam and stunning sapphire are very classic, which balance the size of the dress.
