Father of teen killed in Seattle's CHOP zone speaks out: 'Somebody needs to tell me something'
Horace Lorenzo Anderson Sr., father of 19-year-old Horace Lorenzo Anderson Jr., who was shot and killed in the early morning hours of June 20 in Seattle’s CHOP (Capitol Hill Occupied Protest) zone, joined Hannity Wednesday night and demanded answers from the authorities in an emotional interview. Anderson said he still hadn’t gotten any answers from the police about what happened to his son.
“They need to come talk to me, and somebody needs to come tell me something,” Anderson said as tears streamed down his face. “‘Cause I still don’t know nothing, and somebody needs to come to my house and knock on my door and tell me something, man. You know? I don’t know nothing. I know my son, he got killed up there, and he was just a 19-year-old.”
Anderson spoke about how frustrating the lack of communication from authorities has been, and lamented the fact that it took days for him to get to view his son’s body.
“It’s been almost two weeks, I haven’t heard from nobody. Hasn’t nobody called. Ain’t nobody called me,” Anderson said. “It’s easy for a detective to say, ‘Hey, excuse me.’ Knock on my door, ‘Excuse me, let me tell you what happened [to] your son.’ I don’t know nothing. … They wouldn’t even let me see my son that night. It took me a whole week before I could see my son.” After Sean Hannity interjected in disbelief, Anderson explained, “I went to the hospital and they said that we couldn't see him. They just said we couldn't see him. When I would go there, I'm going there, and I'm looking for a detective, somebody to tell me something. When I get there, there's nobody.”
Anderson said that he had to explain to the doctors that he had to see his son to make sure it was really his son. He also later clarified that he was able to view his son’s body the Thursday after his murder.
In an interview on Tuesday, Anderson said the National Guard should be called in to clear the CHOP zone. On Wednesday, Seattle police did just that. But it was too late for Anderson’s son.
“Somebody should have helped my son,” Anderson said. “He needed help. He needed paramedics. He needed the police to come. Somebody… somebody was supposed to go in there and help my son.”
Hannity airs weeknights at 9 p.m. on Fox News Channel.
