What’s Your Favorite New Music Release of the Week? Vote!

April is officially here, and a number of today’s top music artists are welcoming the spring season with fresh new album releases.

It was a big week in R&B and hip-hop, as J. Cole surprised fans with a brand new project, Might Delete Later. The 12-track album features assists from a diverse range of artists including Gucci Mane, Cam’ron, Bas, Central Cee, Ari Lennox, Young Dro and more. J. Cole’s last album arrived in 2021 with The Off-Season, which topped the Billboard 200 to give the North Carolina rapper his sixth No. 1 album with 282,000 equivalent album units sold in the first week.

Meanwhile, Doja Cat unveiled the deluxe edition of her fourth studio album, Scarlet, dubbing the expanded version Scarlet 2: Claude, named after the villainous character from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The new album features seven new tracks, including “Masc,” “Acknowledge Me,” “Head High,” “Gang,” “Rider,” “Urrrge” and “Hungry.”

Bryson Tiller’s self-titled album also arrived, including collaborations with Victoria Monét on “Persuasion” and Clara La San on “Random Access Memory [RAM]” as well as previous singles “Outside,” “Calypso” and “Whatever She Wants.” The lattermost single scored Tiller his first Billboard Hot 100 top 20 single as a lead artist since his 2015 breakthrough debut single “Don’t,” and “Whatever She Wants” also reached No. 8 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

Over in the alternative rock space, Vampire Weekend dropped their fifth album Only God Was Above Us, while in the Latin world, Young Miko introduced herself to fans with the deeply personal att.
