'FBI' Cast Member Announces Departure After Upcoming Season

The changes continue for the FBI universe. Parade has confirmed that Katherine Renee Kane, who plays Agent Tiffany Wallace, will be leaving the CBS procedural in Season 7. The good news is that she'll appear in at least one episode, and the team won't be down an agent for too long. Lisette Olivera, known for the Disney+ series National Treasure: Edge of History, will soon be joining the cast as a new agent named Syd. She's making the jump from the BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) into the field.

Wallace's exit is a bummer, especially for Agent Scola (John Boyd), who will be on his third partner of the series. But it makes some sense for the character. Last season was particularly tough on her, as she felt responsible for the death of Agent Hobbs (Roshawn Franklin) in the Season 6 premiere. She had taken him with her to investigate a bombing connected to a Somali restaurant. At Wallace's instruction, Hobbs followed the suspect into the men's restroom and then got shot at close range. Wallace spent the whole season feeling guilty and determined to take down the killer, which the team finally got to do in the season finale. She got closure, but that's not an ordeal that's easily forgotten.

The FBI franchise has become a sort of revolving door of actors and characters and shakeups have become a regular occurrence. Wallace originally replaced Kristen Chaval (Ebonee Noel) as Scola's partner, and Alana de la Garza replaced Sela Ward in Season 2 as the Special Agent in Charge. Just last season, FBI: International said goodbye to Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank), the fly team's beloved leader, as the character went on the run with his double agent mother.

The actor made the decision to leave in order to spend more time with his young family just a season after Heida Reed, who played Agent Jamie Kellett, also departed. The series is based in Budapest and films all over Europe, so it frequently sees turnover. In Kleintank's place, Chicago PD alum Jesse Lee Soffer is joining the show as the charming and unconventional Agent Wes Mitchell.

FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted will all return on Tuesday, October 15, and will continue to share Tuesday nights on CBS.
