'FBI: International' Finally Reveals Forrester's Fate After Luke Kleintank's Exit

Luke Kleintank as Forrester in 'FBI: International'

FBI: International has officially said goodbye to Agent Forrester (Luke Kleintank). The second part of the two-part Season 3 finale revealed the fate of the Fly Team's boss, and while it was sort of anticlimactic since we already knew Kleintank was leaving, there were a few twists to be had.

It was unclear if Elizabeth Mitchell would return as Forrester's mother, Angela Cassidy, so when a blonde prisoner played by Teri Polo was referred to as Angela Cassidy, it was easy to accept that that's who she was. Then, when she was finally spotted by Vo (Vinessa Vidotto) and Lange (Colin Donnell), Vo revealed that she wasn't actually Angela Cassidy.

The impostor was revealed to be another American woman named Tess who had been in prison with Angela. Angela basically traded identities with Tess, and even secretly gave her the password to her all important dossier via a prison tattoo cipher. That password, quickly found by Amanda (Christina Wolfe), saved the Fly Team from a huge headache. They had been operating illegally in Norway, and after their attempts to rescue Tess turned violent, they were all arrested. But when they could prove the operation resulted in the recovery of everything Angela Cassidy knew about Putin's inner circle, they were free to go.

Amanda was also able to find a clue to where Forrester and his mother were—in a car just on the border of Alaska—and Lange chose to let it go and wipe the footage, instead of turning him in. Forrester helped both his mother and Tess escape prison, but he and his mom are both now on the run with no FBI clearance. He could return someday, but not to his job at the head of the Fly Team. At least Tan—the team's beloved dog who has been MIA all season—is back to help lessen the blow.

Lange also said his goodbyes to the team, but if anyone has any sense, they'll bring him back permanently. He fit in so well that it felt wrong for him to leave at all.

Kleintank announced his exit last month. In a statement, he said he was leaving to spend more time with his family. His final episode aired May 7, though his final scenes gave no indication that he was leaving. It's nice to know the door is open for him to show back up someday, even if the team just proved they can work pretty well without him.
