Aug. 11—The Verve Pipe

7:30 p.m. Thursday

1990s alternative rock band The Verve Pipe will put on an outdoor performance on the Jebbett/Rowmark Festival Grounds at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, 200 W. Main Cross St., Findlay. This multi-platinum group will perform favorites as well as original music. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased online by visiting mcpa.org/events/detail/verve-pipe.

Big Band Dance

2 to 4 p.m. Thursday

A Big Band dance will be held at the Eagles Hall, 800 W. Robb Ave., Lima. People aged 60 and older are invited to attend this free event.

Central Jam

6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday

Rayne Johnson and Ty Herndon will headline the first Central Jam in The Central District (Spring Street at Central Avenue) in downtown Lima. "We're excited that two nationally known country artists will be headlining the Central Jam," says iHeart Radio Area President Matt Bell. "Rayne Johnson is an emerging star from right here in Ohio who hit the Top 40 with "Front Seat" in 2019, and Ty Herndon has been a fan favorite since 'What Matters Most' hit number 1 in 1995." Central District partner Jerome O'Neal adds, "This is only the first of many concerts and other entertainment we will be bringing to The Central District. The Central District and downtown Lima are going to be a destination for people from across the Greater Lima Region who are looking for great entertainment, restaurants and a fun place to gather with friends." Admission is $5 per person at the gate. Food and beverage will be available. Central Jam is sponsored by iHeart Radio, The Central District, Anheuser-Busch and ArtSpace/Lima.

A Little Sondheim Music

7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday

The Lima Symphony Orchestra is partnering with Modo Media for the summer concert, "A Little Sondheim Music." Performances will be on the Jameson Manor Lawn, 1028 W. Market St., Lima. Local singers will present some of the the greatest hits from beloved musical theater composer Stephen Sondheim. Examples include "Into the Woods," "Sweeney Todd," and more. Tickets are $50, $40, and $30, and can be purchased online at limasymphony.com or by calling 419-222-5701.

Mercer County Fair

Friday through Thursday

The Mercer County Fair will run from Friday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug. 18 at the Mercer County Fairgrounds, 1001 W. Market St., Celina.
