UPDATE: ‘Razor’s Edge’ filming leads to temporary shutdowns in Columbus

UPDATE: A source confirmed to WRBL filming was for the upcoming movie “The Razor’s Edge” from producer Alexander Kane, a Georgia-native.

The film is set to start Hollywood A-listers like Tommy Lee Jones and James Franco.

A release date is still unknown, but Kane said the movie is likely to come out within the next eight-to-twelve months.

Filming will continue over the course of the next two weeks, potentially leading to more closures, although Kane noted his crew tries to be as un-invasive as possible and works to avoid shutting down main areas when possible.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A movie being filmed in Columbus may cause some temporary closures, according to Uptown Columbus.

10th Street and Bay Avenue as well as The Splash Pad will close on Thursday, July 11. The Banks Food Hall parking lot should still be accessible through 11th Street.

On Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., filming moves to the 1000 block of Broadway. Uptown Columbus says there may be filming on portions of the sidewalk in that area. There will also be filming in Scruffy Murphy’s that Saturday, which will cause them to close until 7 p.m.

CPD also announced on Thursday the 13th Street bridge will temporarily close.
