Finneas Says Billie Eilish Is Learning to Produce Music Without Him: “She’s Very Good at It”
While Finneas and Billie Eilish will always be siblings, they may eventually not always be producing music together.
During a recent interview with Guitar.com, Finneas said he’s been letting go of the reins some when it comes to music production for Eilish and helping her learn how to produce on her own. He previously produced the “Birds of a Feather” singer’s first three albums.

“I’ve been setting up Billie’s recording studio for her so she can do home production without me, because she’s very good at it!” the “Till Forever Falls Apart” artist said. “And it’s funny, I’ve been giving her, like, the bare minimum of stuff, just so that she learns it all.”
While Finneas has upgraded to a more professional gear setup now, compared to his early production days, he knows it’s better to start with simple equipment.
“I’m like ‘Listen, I could give you all the stuff that I use now, but it took me years to even have a use for it. And, if I give you this basic thing, it’ll make sense to you right away,’” he recalled telling Eilish.
The duo has dominated the music charts since Eilish’s debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, in 2019. They have since collaborated on 2021’s Happier Than Ever and 2024’s Hit Me Hard and Soft. Finneas has also released his own albums, including 2019’s Blood Harmony and 2021’s Optimist.
Their special creative dynamic has also been highlighted at awards shows, as Finneas, who’s only 27, has already collected two Oscars and nine Grammys. And he could be up for more thanks to Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, which was released earlier this year.
