Matt Damon goes Greek for The Odyssey
Matt Damon is looking epic. Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan revealed a first-look image from his upcoming adaptatation of Homer‘s The Odyssey, which will feature Damon in the lead role of Odysseus. The star-studded ensemble also includes Oscar winners Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron, as well as Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Mia Goth, John Leguizamo, Jon Bernthal, and Benny Safdie.
According to Universal, Nolan’s follow-up to Oppenheimer, which he wrote and will coproduce with wife Emma Thomas, will be a “mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time.” It is slated to open on July 17, 2026.

Kamala Harris lines up first post-veep TV appearance
Former Vice President Kamala Harris has been tapped for the NAACP’s Chairman’s Award. The honor, to be presented at the NAACP Image Awards recognizes those who “excel in public service and leverage their unique platforms to ignite and drive meaningful change” and has previously gone to Barack Obama, Samuel L. Jackson, Danny Glover, Ruby Dee, Tyler Perry, Amanda Gorman, and the late John Lewis.
Harris’ appearance at the Image Awards on Feb. 22 in Pasadena, Calif., will be her first major television event since leaving office.
Sharon Stone eyes Euphoria
Euphoria continues to bolster its ranks ahead of Season 3. Sharon Stone is the latest star looking to join the cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Production began last week on the series after a nearly three-year hiatus. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, and Colman Domingo are among the returning cast members. Aside from Stone, other newbies in the ensemble will include former NFL star Marshawn Lynch, Grammy winner Rosalía, former A Different World star Kadeem Hardison, and Lost alum Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
HBO has yet to set a launch date for the season, but it won’t likely be back until sometime in 2026.
Kate Winslet says hello to Goodbye June
Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet is ready to try her hand at directing with Netflix family drama Goodbye June.
Winslet will produce, direct, and star in the film alongside Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, and Helen Mirren. Based on a script by Winslet’s son Joe Anders, the U.K.-set film is centered on “fractured group of siblings pull together under sudden and trying circumstances.” Production begins later this year.
Jay-Z, Cat Stevens, Santana, Gloria Estefan’s recordings heading to Grammy Hall of Fame
The Recording Academy has unveiled the albums and singles chosen for induction in the Grammy Hall of Fame.
The 2025 class includes eight albums: Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt, Cat Stevens’ Tea For The Tillerman, Santana’s Supernatural, Big Star‘s #1 Record, Luther Vandross‘ Never Too Much, Emmylou Harris‘ Wrecking Ball, Fela Kuti & Afrika 70‘s Zombie, and J.D. Crowe & the New South‘s eponymous album.
The five selected singles: Clara Ward‘s “How I Got Over,” Eddie Floyd‘s “Knock on Wood”, Geeshie Wiley‘s “Last Kind Words Blues”, Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine‘s “Conga,” and Linda Martell‘s “Color Him Father.”
Recipients will receive an official certificate from the Recording Academy at the induction gala on May 16.
Sonic 3 sets streaming date
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is zooming to Paramount+. The threequel will be available to stream beginning Tuesday alongside the first two installments in the animated video game-based film franchise as well as the made-for-TV spinoff, Knuckles. Paramount has also announced that Sonic 4 is revving up for a March 19, 2027 release.
