Four nights, four big rock concerts in Jacksonville area this weekend
For Jacksonville area classic rock fans, it's difficult to beat the four acts playing back-to-back-to-back-to-back this weekend.
If so inclined, they could see Styx on Friday, Elton John on Saturday, the Who on Sunday and Little Feat on Monday.

Styx
With Night Ranger, 8 p.m. Friday at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. $42-$119. Buy tickets here.
What's special about this show? The band is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
How many originals left in the band? One, two or three, depending on how you count. Guitarist James "JY" Young is a founder. So is bass player Chuck Panozzo, but he doesn't play every show. Band leader Tommy Shaw is on most of the band's biggest songs, but he didn't join until the sixth Styx album, "Crystal Ball."

Elton John

What's special about this show? It's probably the last chance to see Elton in Jacksonville. This is his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
How many originals left in the band? Technically, one, Elton himself. But his touring band includes guitarist Davey Johnstone, percussionist Ray Cooper and drummer Nigel Olsson, who started playing with Elton on the “Madman Across the Water” album in 1971.

What's special about this show? The band, with new singer Scott Sharrard (Gregg Allman's longtime music director), will play its classic 1978 live album, "Waiting for Columbus," start to finish.
How many originals still in the band? Three, keyboardist Bill Payne, percussionist Sam Clayton and bass player Kenny Gradney.
Songs you know by heart: "Fat Man in the Bathtub," "Let it Roll," "Dixie Chicken," "Willin'"
Accolades: Zero Top 10 hits, zero No. 1 albums, one Grammy nomination but widely respected in the music industry and by dedicated fans.
