Gabrielle Union’s Daughter Kaavia Transforms Into a Real-Life Barbie Girl for Her 6th Birthday
Kaavia James is “a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world” — wait, scratch that. Barbie (and all of us!) actually live in Kaavia’s world, and her pretty-in-pink birthday party proved that. Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s 6-year-old daughter was an actual princess at her Barbie party, and the pictures are stunning.
“Somebody tell Barbie it’s Kaavia’s World! ?? ???? @mattel” a joint post shared by Union, Wade, and Kaavia’s official Instagram account was captioned. In the first picture, Kaavia lies on a huge, oversized sign that says “Kaavia” in Barbie letters, with her pink silhouette done in Barbie style on top.

In another snap, Kaavia smiles in a pink dress, standing next to two pretty important “dolls” in her life — her Barbie-fied mom and Ken-lookalike dad! Wade wears blue pants and a matching jacket as he stands in a blue Mattel box, and Union smiles like Barbie in a hot pink dress inside her pink Mattel box. Later, Kaavia also smiles (and curtsies!) in the Barbie box, and it’s adorable.
“Kaavia’s Signature Drinks” are served for the outdoor party, complete with custom themed cups. There was also a dance floor, a ton of Barbie doll sets and accessories as party favors, and a pink Kaavia-Barbie cake, which her parents watched her blow out decked out in pink Kaavia t-shirts.
In other snaps, Kaavia is wearing a stunning, one-shoulder pink sparkly dress with her face painted with a pink fairy. She wore her own pink party t-shirt in another picture, this time showing off her impressive skills as she does a one-handed cartwheel in front of a pink flower arch. Who said she was allowed to grow up this fast?!
Toward the end of the carousel, Kaavia wears pink heart pajamas as she goes through her presents. She got a pink Barbie Stanley cup, Barbie dolls and books, Barbie slippers and more. “Are you so excited and happy?” Union asks her daughter off-camera. “Yes!” she responded, smiling at the camera. She’s such a sweetheart.

“Our internet niece is 6????????. Wasn’t she just born yesterday?” one person commented. Someone else wrote, “Beautiful Kaavia ??a little Princess.”
The Bring It On alum shared a heartfelt note for her daughter, also known as Shady Baby, on Instagram last week. “Miss Kaavia James Union Wade is 6 today!!!” she wrote. “You are a miracle who has blessed everyone with your kindness, compassion, elite humor, intelligence and your loving soul. You are a gift to your family, blood and chosen, and so many people across the world.”
She added, “We love you beyond measure and we celebrate your cute little self daily!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEEN KAAVIA!!!”
It was a party fit for a princess!
