Game of Thrones Actress is Frontrunner to play Lara Croft
The new Tomb Raider series is taking shape, with Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner rumored for the lead role.
Turner, who starred as Sansa Stark in all eight seasons of the hit HBO series from 20111 to 2019, is tipped to play legendary archaeologist Lara Croft in the live-action Tomb Raider series.
She’s not the only one up for the role, however. British-American actress Lucy Boynton is also in the running. She played Mary Austin in Bohemian Rhapsody, fiance to Freddy Mercury, and also featured in The Pale Blue Eye and Chevalier.
Fleabag writer and actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge is developing the Tomb Raider series for Amazon, but with the cast not yet locked in, it’ll be 2026 at the earliest before we get to see it.
If you’re in the mood for some tomb-raiding action, however, animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is now available to watch on Netflix and features the voice of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning star Hayley Atwell.
