Jack Lowden (“Small Axe”) also stars as a young agent who, after botching a mission, joins Lamb in the spy equivalent of social Siberia. Tasked with little more than paper-pushing and trash combing, jaded boss Oldman expects little from his team until they find themselves embroiled in a high-octane terrorist plot, which Lowden and his colleagues are determined to uncover.
Joining Oldman and Lowden are Kristin Scott Thomas (“Rebecca”) MI5 boss Diana Taverner, Jonathan Pryce (“The Two Popes”) as River’s grandfather David Cartwright, and Olivia Cooke (“Ready Player One”) as his colleague Sidonie ‘Sid’ Baker.
Rounding out the cast are Freddie Fox (“The Great”) as River’s nemesis Spider Webb, Rosalind Eleazar (“Harlots”) as Louisa Guy, Dustin Demri-Burns (“The Great”) as Min Harper and Chris Chung (“Waterloo Road”) as egotistical computer whizz Roddy Ho.
See-Saw Films / Apple TV
“Slow Horses” will debut with two episodes on April 1 before releasing one a week thereafter.
The series is produced for Apple by See-Saw Films (“Power of the Dog”) and executive produced by Graham Yost and Will Smith (“Veep”), who also adapted Herron’s novel for television. Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Gail Mutrux and Douglas Urbanski also serve as executive producers on the series.
