Workshops at the festival will cover a wide range of topics and there will be a think tank bridging the gap between various creative industries, as well as a a formal pitch session, Seriesly said. Screenings, which will be open to the public, will be unveiled shortly.
Seriesly Berlin will run across two days at the Fotografiska Berlin. Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and the German Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises are both partners and financial sponsors of the event, which will be run by German industry vet Eike Faecks and his newly founded outfit Regime Media.
“The industry doesn’t need another cookie-cutter TV event,” said Faecks. “We want to build a community of diverse, bold talent and visionary decision-makers, bridging culture and commerce. Real talks. Fresh voices and formats. No ‘BS’ or algorithms dictating creativity. Let’s talk Seriesly.”
Deadline revealed the fest several months back and subsequently revealed that former European Film Market Director Dennis Ruh had joined as a consultant. Ruh brought with him Matija Dragojevic, a veteran of the European festival circuit and most recently Conference Programmer at the Berlinale Series Market, while Silvia Taha became Program Coordinator.
