The season of crisp autumn air is upon us, summoning all of the homebodies to stay in and snuggle up with their favorite comfort show. If you're looking to sink into your sofa for some warm fuzzies, this list of cozy TV shows features old friends and cable-knit sweaters aplenty!
No town does fall better than the fictitious wonderland of Stars Hollow. Between that quaint town square decked out with pumpkins for the Autumn Festival and Lorelai and Rory's comfy sweater game, Gilmore Girls has become a seasonal staple for many fans. Binge this show if you're looking for low-stakes drama, small-town charm, quippy dialogue, and a continuously cozy theme of coffee, coffee, coffee.
If Stars Hollow isn't dishing up enough drama, Manhattan's elite will surely do the trick. Gossip Girl follows a group of upper-crust New Yorkers who must survive the plights of being ultra-wealthy, ultra-privileged, ultra-misunderstood, and anonymously blogged about. This unrelatable romp exudes delightfully comfy early 2000s vibes. There are also plenty of episodes featuring the gloriousness that is fall in New York City!

What's cozier than spending a few episodes with your best friends? Escaping to a world where NYC apartments are massive, and every problem can be talked out at the Central Perk is just the ticket for a cozy night in. The 90s fall fashion is enviable, and there are several autumnal episodes to enjoy — from "The One With The Football" to "The One With All The Thanksgivings."

First things first: I would kill for Jerry Seinfeld's sweaters. Much like Friends, this sitcom is full of nostalgic '90s fashion and the comforting aura of thirtysomethings figuring out life together in the big city. I can't explain why, but Seinfeld is best consumed late at night, underneath a giant blanket, just before bed.
5.Only Murders In The Building
As perhaps one of the most fall-ish TV shows out there, Only Murders In The Building simply feels right this time of year. The series follows three eclectic friends who start a podcast to try and solve a murder that occurred in their apartment building. It comes with the perfect autumn-in-New York setting, lots of great fall fashion, and a spooky (but mostly kooky) murder mystery storyline. 10/10 for cozy fall TV watching!
6.Stranger Things
If you thought a show about supernatural monsters couldn't be cozy...you thought wrong. Stranger Things is a personal favorite during the chillier months with its Halloween-ish flare, cozy coming-of-age plotlines, and blissful '80s ambiance. Sure, creatures from the Upside Down might be wreaking havoc each season, but there's something wonderfully cozy about a time before iPads and iPhones — when kids would simply ride their bikes around town saving the world.
7.Derry Girls
This hilarious and heartfelt comedy about a group of teenagers growing up in Northern Ireland in the '90s is exceptionally cozy. Most of Derry Girls takes place during the chillier months of the school year — meaning jumpers and cardigans galore! Joining a ragtag friend group on their misadventures in the small Irish town of Derry is a remedy you didn't know your soul needed this fall.
8.Wednesday
If mysterious and spooky is your preference, Netflix's Wednesday is a worthwhile journey. As the new girl at a magical academy, Wednesday Addams must navigate the woes of being a teenager while also investigating a strange monster on the loose. This whodunnit is produced by Tim Burton and is a not-too-scary series that feels fitting for Halloween.
9.Virgin River
If the hominess of autumn has you yearning for wholesome content, Virgin River might be your cup of tea. The Hallmark-esque series follows Mel, a nurse, as she takes on a new job in a small town where everybody knows everybody's business. Prepare for lovely scenery and cheerfully cheesy plotlines.
10.Downton Abbey
When it's chilly outside, escape to the stunning Downton Abbey estate. This cozy period piece has six seasons and two movies, giving viewers plenty of time to invest in the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their staff. Though certain plotlines are heavy, the majority of this series feels like a warm cup of Earl Grey.
11.Abbott Elementary
With school back in session, add Abbott Elementary to your list. Filmed as a mockumentary, this award-winning show follows a group of dedicated teachers at a low-income public school, determined to give their students the best education possible. Episodes range from heartwarming to hysterical and bring that 'back to school' feeling so many of us had as kids.
12.Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Immerse yourself in the world of Buffy Summers, where vanquishing demons and fighting off vamps is an everyday occurrence.
