'We are going to offend people': Trevor Noah says people forget comedians come with warning labels
The 70th Annual Emmy Awards may feature professional funny people and their controversial jokes, but The Daily Show host Trevor Noah says that the “ironic controversy” is what makes comedy what it is.
“People forget that comedians, specifically, we have a warning label that says this is what we’re gonna do,” Noah says to Yahoo Entertainment on the red carpet on Monday. “We are going to offend people, we are going to make people uncomfortable, we are gonna say things that are ironic, that aren’t true, aren’t how we are feeling, are expressing what’s happening in society. And that’s literally what we do.”
