Golden Globes tap Greta Gerwig, Neil Patrick Harris to present
The Golden Globes nabbed two more presenters for the 75th annual Hollywood ceremony. EW can exclusively reveal that Lady Bird writer-director Greta Gerwig and A Series of Unfortunate Events star and Genius Junior host Neil Patrick Harris have been tapped to present awards during the event in January.
Gerwig’s film was nominated for best motion picture in the musical/comedy category, while the first time feature filmmaker also received a nom for best screenwriting. Gerwig’s stars, Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf, are also nominees in the best actress and best supporting actress categories for musical/comedy, respectively.
When the full list of nominees were announced, however, critics and journalists were quick to pounce on Gerwig’s snub for best director.
Harris, meanwhile, has a lot of experience presenting things. In addition to numerous years hosting the Tony awards, the actor hosted the Oscars in 2010 and previously presented at the Globes.
Four other wonder women — Gal Gadot, Kerry Washington, Amy Poehler, and Kelly Clarkson — have also been named as presenters.
Late Night‘s Seth Meyers will host the 2018 Golden Globes, which will air live coast-to-coast on Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. HFPA will make more announcements leading up to the big night at @GoldenGlobes on Twitter.
