Grammys 2020: Lana Del Rey shares relatable place she got her 'last minute' red carpet dress

Who was Lana Del Rey wearing at the Grammys Sunday night? The answer may surprise you.

Rather than opt for a custom-made, designer gown, the "California" songstress revealed in an interview with ET she found her dress for Music's Biggest Night while shopping at the mall.

"Tell us about the dress, girl," ET correspondent Lauren Zima asked the singer, who wore a sparkling silver gown on the awards show red carpet.

"So, I actually had another dress, and then my boyfriend and I were getting a belt for him at the mall, and I saw this, and I loved it," Del Rey said. "So this is a last-minute dress, but I love it."

The singer added she had the dress tailored around her waist to achieve the perfect fit.

"You know, a little mix and match," she continued. "I'm making it all work."

Zima applauded the singer's resourcefulness.

"Live like Lana: Go to the mall," she added. "I love it."

Accompanying Del Rey on the red carpet was her boyfriend, Sean Larkin, a police officer from the reality show "Live PD." The singer told ET she's "happy" in her relationship.

Del Rey was nominated Sunday for album and song of the year for "Norman F***ing Rockwell!" Billie Eilish ended up winning both categories, for her album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" and song "Bad Guy."
