Granddaughter and grandfather duo to open ice cream and coffee cafe in Fayetteville
An ice cream and coffee cafe is coming to Fayetteville.
Sip & Scoop is set to open this month at 3037 Boone Trail Extension, Suite A, formerly Fayetteville Bakery & Cafe. The shop at Boone Trail Center shopping plaza will offer treats for kids and caffeine for adults, owner Krista Multerer said.
Multerer, 33, a mother of four, is opening the cafe with her grandfather, Jim Henley Sr., 76.
Multerer said that with a new dance studio in the shopping center, they saw an opportunity to provide a space for families to hang out while kids are taking dance lessons.
The shop will offer a seating area for adults in addition to a kids’ area, she said.
Multerer said she also hopes to serve employees at the nearby Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, as well as law enforcement officers.
“We’re big into first responders,” she said.
The shop will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday, Multerer said, and the menu offers brewed coffee, espresso drinks, sandwiches, fruit cups, breakfast items and more than a dozen ice cream and milkshake flavors.
