Halle Berry's Boyfriend Van Hunt Is Getting Dragged Into Her Court Battle With Ex Olivier Martinez
Halle Berry and her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, are not having a fun time in court right now. In addition to their co-parenting issues over their son, Maceo, 10, the former duo doesn’t see eye to eye when it comes to her boyfriend, Van Hunt.
While the Oscar winner claims that the French actor wasn’t honoring the terms of their co-parenting agreement, which includes therapy for them, she also believes that he’s been acting hostile toward Hunt, per court documents obtained by Too Fab. “Olivier’s conduct has resulted in several areas that concern me greatly,” she wrote in the filing. “Olivier’s continued refusal to accept my relationship with [boyfriend Van Hunt], who plays an important role in Maceo’s life.”

“Olivier’s lack of acceptance of Van has resulted in Olivier refusing to permit Maceo to work in a family therapy setting with me and Van as a means to continue to create a healthy environment for our son within the structure of a blended family,” she continued. Martinez reportedly decided to take the “summer off” from therapy and is currently vacationing in France. Berry alleged that his holiday break from their sessions was not approved by her or the therapist.
Berry and Martinez were married for three years and currently share joint legal custody of Maceo. Their tumultuous relationship was difficult from the start when they had to relocate from Europe to Los Angeles full-time after her child-custody battle with ex-boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry — they share a daughter, Nahla, 16. “Olivier never loved living in L.A. full time. [He] just isn’t happy in L.A,” a source told People in 2020.
There were also issues with his “violent temper” which led to a fight between Martinez and Aubrey at Berry’s house on Thanksgiving Day 2012. “Even though they are married, they always had very separate lives,” the insider added. “Their marriage has never been what Olivier imagined it to be. It’s been a disappointment to him.”
It doesn’t seem that their lives apart have gotten any easier either. The judge has so far denied Berry’s request to force Martinez back into therapy while he’s in France, it was not deemed urgent, per People. For now, the rocky relationship won’t see any resolution and Hunt probably wishes he could stay out of the entire mess.
