For viewers who can’t get enough of watching Christmas movies in December, Hallmark + is launching their new streaming service on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Not only is it the perfect spot for fans to take their Hallmark experience to the next level, the network is delivering two new series that should bring all the feels for its debut.

The news was announced in July with President and CEO Mike Perry promising that Hallmark + would bring the “very best of Hallmark with new exclusive content and membership benefits program” for a subscription price of $79.99 per year or $7.99 per month, according to Deadline. Fans will earn reward points from the content they watch which can be turned in for a shopping spree at Hallmark stores. “Shoppers are viewers, viewers are shoppers,” he added.
Fans can look forward to one new scripted series, The Chicken Sisters, based on KJ Dell’Antonia’s best-selling novel and proud member of Reese Witherspoon’s book club. The other show to watch is Celebrations With Lacey Chabert, which is the media company’s first unscripted show ever in the history of the network.
We’re sure it’s confusing to think about another streaming network at this point, but Soaps.com got a sneak peek at both shows. We’re here to tell you that both series are bringing something fresh to the network while still honoring Hallmark’s legacy of featuring heartwarming stories.
Celebrations With Lacey Chabert
If you are looking for a feel-good hour of programming, Lacey Chabert, the queen of Hallmark, is diving into her first unscripted show with Celebrations. Grab your tissues because she’s going to be honoring local heroes who selflessly give back to their community. It will be their time to shine when they are surprised with a party in their honor — it’s the “uplifting” content we all need during these crazy times.
We weren’t the only ones bawling our eyes out while watching the 10-episode series, Chabert learned very quickly that she’s “a crier” too. “Every step of the way, my heart was just so touched,” she shared with Soaps.com. “And the biggest moment of having the hero walk in and realize that this party is for them, and they’re being surrounded by all this love. Oh, that got me every time.”
Celebrations With Lacey Chabert premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 10 on Hallmark +.
The Chicken Sisters
If you are looking for a show that hits all the right notes — humor, solid writing, and strong performances — look no further than The Chicken Sisters. Starring Wendie Malick, Lea Thompson, Schuyler Fisk, and Genevieve Angelson, the story centers around rival fried chicken restaurants in a small town with a web of family dynamics and a reality TV cooking contest that sends the entire neighborhood into a tailspin. Will you be Team Mimi or Team Frannie? Well, if Carlson and Malick have anything to say about it, they want you to be Team Mimi.
“Mimi’s girls are real. Mimi’s girls are maybe a little bit loose, maybe a little bit more direct, maybe from the wrong sides of the tracks a little bit, but in fact we do have a better chicken,” joked Angelson in a recent interview with Soaps.com
“We’re spicier,” Malick added.
Get ready because The Chicken Sisters is set to debut on Tuesday, Sept. 10 on Hallmark +.
