Hallmark Countdown to Summer movies

A Lifelong Love — Premiered May 4 at 8/7c

This programming series kicked off on Saturday, May 4 with the premiere of A Lifelong Love starring Andrea Brooks and Patch May.

The film follows Annika (Brooks), a poet, and her ex, Ryan (May), a photographer. In a professional rut, the two are given the opportunity to put their creativity and talent to use by documenting Annika's grandfather's journey to reunite with his first love, Ruth.

"One of the refreshing things about this movie is it shows, in a sense, that you can restart your life," said Andrea Brooks in an interview with Media Village.

"Things don't have to end. The second chance aspect (at love) is pivotal and a cohesive piece of the plot that ties everything. Obviously, Annika and Ryan are taking a second chance as we're pursuing this second chance for my grandfather. I think it's an important element, and one I hope resonates with lots of people because there are a lot of people out there who take a second chance, start again, restart their life, find new love and move on. It's really genuine, and really sweet to tell a story about that."

A Whitewater Romance — Premiering May 11 at 8/7c

"Taking a leap of faith and making big life changes can be challenging. But when Tara sees all the positive signs around her...a sense of community, quality of life, healthy relationships and a sense of peace…I can relate to how this would affirm you’ve made the right choice for yourself and your family."
